For sure nurses in the Philippines make waaaay much smaller than these guys but if you’re in it for the money, then I think you’re not in the right profession.

Come to think of it though, there are a lot of doctors who have already made a switch to nursing and then make their way overseas to work so I guess you could actually make a decent living being a nurse.

Would you like an information sheet on nursing career? Are you pondering about if it is your calling? It could be.

What’s stopping you from plunging into the world of nursing? If you think that the work is too stressful that it can cause you to gain weight once you are in, think again. If that is the effect that stress has on you, you can counteract it by being vigilant about your weight issues.

Of course, not every individual is concerned about this matter. Other people, no matter how much weight they have gained, think that it is for their best. They are not really concerned about the added pounds and fats. What they are most concerned with is their expertise.

If you are already into nursing, there are so many works to do, so many to accomplish and there is so little time. So how can you still think about gaining weight? You may worry at times when the bulges become bigger. But there really are ways to prevent it. You may not have the luxury to do counter ways to lessen your weight and dissolve your fats. But if you really are aimed at doing something, you will do whatever it takes to achieve your goal.

Fact Number One
The career itself will not cause you to gain weight. If you are prone to accumulating body fats easily, it will happen no matter what career you’ve ventured in. To avoid this from happening in nursing, you must do everything in your capacity to eat the right foods and exercise.

Fact Number Two
A career in nursing offers stability. This also goes to the other careers in the healthcare industry. But the pay should be equaled with hard work. The money will be worth it because of the many tasks that you have to do to be able to function well as a nurse.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that almost 10% of people in the nursing field are earning more over than $75,000. While the average salary or compensation that nurses get is about $43,000 up to $63,000.

Fact Number Three
The feeling of being burn out and stressed is common in the field of nursing. This is especially true because right now, there is a shortage of nurses. And just like the doctors, as a nurse, you cannot choose what days you should be working and up to what time. You need to be in service wherever and whenever your expertise is needed.

Fact Number Four
Listen to your heart. If it is in your nature to help others out, then maybe nursing is for you. If your passion includes caring for the needy and providing them their needs in terms of health, then this will be easy for you to do.

Look at the whole spectrum of things before you commit to the nursing profession. Choose wisely while you still have a choice. And once you are part of the industry, do everything in your capacity to make a difference and stand out in the field.

With such information sheet on nursing career, do you think you are ready to be one of them? Then there is no better time to go into it but as soon as possible. Helping out while that help is still needed will be appreciated and reciprocated in the future.

Since the 1980?s, there has been a shortage of nurses in the United States. One way the government has tried to fill the gap is by hiring nurses from abroad. But instead of offering this job to foreign workers, why don?t you consider a career being one? A career in nursing is very broad. Before getting into this, it is best to understand the different types around and then deciding what you want to pursue.

Critical care nursing is one field you can get into if you can handle pressure of working with patients inside the intensive care unit or ICU. They may also find work in cardiac catheter labs, telemetry units, progressive care units, emergency departments and recovery rooms.

Lately, critical care nurses have also found there way working in clinics, home healthcare, nursing schools and outpatient surgery centers.

After working as a critical care nurse for many years, you career can move to elsewhere as you may become a nurse manager, educator or researcher. Some may even be acute care nurse practitioners or ACNP after they get a master?s or doctorate in nursing.

Those who are good with computers may pursue a career in nursing informatics. Basically, these individuals write and modify programs and assist in the training of hospital personnel who will also be using such systems. Their career may go another step forward once they develop enough skills to manage these systems instead of just being an encoder.

Those who love babies may find a work in neonatal nursing. This branch of nursing is relatively new and you may find work either in a level 1, 2 or 3 nursery.

The level 1 nursery is where healthy newborn babies are placed until it is time for them to go home. The level 2 nursery is for infants that were born prematurely and will require some care before being discharged from the hospital. The level 3 is the intensive care unit for infants which, means they need special equipment like incubators or even surgery.

Nurses who want to work with cancer patients may start their career in oncology nursing. These individuals are there to help a patient during all stages of treatment. They may even provide counseling and help those who want to prevent cancer by telling them how to avoid it.

The advanced practice of oncology nursing may even make you become an administrator, caregiver, consultant, coordinator and researcher.

Pediatric nursing is another field you can consider since you are able to work with children of different ages. Since they are prone to sicknesses, the nurse may help them further by specializing in either immunology or oncology.

Whatever field of nursing you want to pursue, you need to go to school to earn that degree. With a few years of experience and perhaps a master or a doctorate, you may soon qualify for a higher position and become a better practitioner that you were before.

Nursing is high in demand and the various positions mentioned just goes to show that there is a lot you can do to help those who are sick regardless of age or gender. Just be sure that this is something you want to get into because only those who have the passion will be able to stay in this field for a long time.

Job and career fairs are common ways for both employers and employees to get what they want. It is beneficial for both of them. That?s why it is not unusual to find lots of employers participating in these kinds of events as well as lots of career seekers attending them. A nursing career fair is no exception. In career fair for nurses, you?ll find a number of booths of various medical facilities from nursing homes, to hospitals, and even pharmaceutical companies.

Because the industry is always looking for qualified nurses, it seems there?s always a big demand for such health workers, employers will even hire both registered nurses and those that are nurse practitioners. This is potentially good news for those who seek a career in nursing. You just have to be exceptionally good to have a better chance of landing a position or having an offer. Remember that even though nurses are in demand, it doesn?t mean they?re just looking to hire anyone. The more qualified you are, the better the chance you will land a job.

Now, in these kinds of fair, you will absolutely need one piece of document: your updated resume. Make sure that your resume is updated and that you know it by heart. If interviewers asked something written in your resume, be sure to answer you will be able to answer the. Fail and it might be result to a bad impression with the interviewers

Another thing that you need to consider is your present skills and experience. Having worked for a hospital?s ER will definitely get you points there. This will help you choose specific employers and increase the chance of having something to show after a job fair, an offer or a job contract maybe.

These kinds of career fairs are usually announced well in advance. You need to check the local postings in bulletin boards in and around your community. Hospital news boards can contain a note or two of upcoming nursing fairs. Clinics, community drug store, and even the convenient store can have flyers and such.

Also, don?t limit yourself on community posters, go online. A number of job fairs are being distributed through mailing lists, online communities and forums. Check things out with your other nurses? friends just in cases they hear something happening.

Knowing in advance when and where a job fair will take place can help you prepare your credentials on paper and can help you prepare psychologically and emotionally as well. Your resume needs to be prepared, and a list of references would be ideal. In the field where you are involved in saving lives, a good set of references that will vouch for your dedication, honesty and motivation of your job will come a long way.

When you do bring your resume, be sure to have enough copies free of typographical and grammatical errors. What you write on your resume usually reflects the find of personality you have. When you write your resume, keep the most recent entries and the best entries on top. The best skills you have, the latest job you had, and the type of responsibilities you were given.

If it is possible, get a list of participating companies or employers. Organizers usually list them down and print them on posters to encourage people to go and attend the fairs.

Once you?ve given your resume to prospect employers, be sure to do some follow-ups later on. Hundreds if not thousands might have applied for the same position you did in the same nursing career fairs. It is best to show interest by giving them a call and asking or reminding them of your application. Not too much though, just in moderate amounts.

Nursing is one of the careers which are overflowing with never-ending personal and professional rewards. Once you are in this career, it means that you have chosen to have your life spent helping others while using your skills; the skills of uniting knowledge of science and medical procedures with being compassionate for others. There are also a few professions that offer such rewarding experience; however, it is incomparable with the best nursing careers.

Being one of the largest professions, nursing needs a lot of individuals to fill in positions and many are still needed in the future. Nurses are the largest components in the hospital staff and primarily play a very significant role in managing the patients and taking care of them while being hospitalize. Also, nursing is the most versatile career since it works in a variety of settings and environment.

Every day on the job, nurses use the science they learned in nursing school. And even when they are in the field, they take continuing education so they can be updated with the latest trends in medical and nursing sciences. Science is a never-ending struggle to find new treatments, medications, and new procedures to help patients. So, keeping up with the latest in the medical and nursing sciences is essential for nurses. Best nursing careers would definitely become in demand as time goes by. With today?s population steadily growing, nurses will never find themselves jobless from now on and well into the future.

While in the field of nursing one can say that they constantly do similar tasks, however, they do them in different environment setting. Here are some of the things that nurses do:

? Assessments:

Gathering information about the physical condition, emotional state, lifestyle, family, hopes, fears, etc of a patient is among the jobs of nurses.

? Diagnoses:

This job entails nurses to recognize what specific problem or need the patient might have; this can either be spiritual, emotional, or physical.

? Planning:

Nurses find ways to solve problems and set specific goals for their improvement. They also encourage patients to participate in planning their care.

? Implementation:

Nurses automatically implement what is in their nursing plan. They are tasked to manage the proper medications and treatments needed by the patient. They can also teach their patients on how to take good care of themselves.

? Evaluation:

In this stage, the nurses need to review the results of the plan regularly and make adjustments if it is needed.

In the world today, there is a significant shortage for nurses. And in the years to come, this world would crave for the services that nurses do. This is due to several underlying reasons. One is that advances in health care help people to live longer and in the years to come there are more elderly people who will need care. Also, the current nursing workface is aging. As more nurses retire, more will be needed to replace them.

Best nursing careers have more options than ever before about the nature of work. Nurses have different kinds of work and vary where they do it. There are many other settings in the nursing career environment such as long-term-care centers, community health clinics, corporate health centers, home care, research centers, military, Peace Corps and international service organization, nursing schools and medical offices.

There are absolutely a lot of options that nurses can choose from. And for sure, in the many years to come, nursing would still be the most in demand career in the world.

Q. How often should a newborn be nursed?

A. You should nurse a newborn no less than 8 times a day, depending upon how long he sleeps between feedings at night. If he can go four hours between feedings, then you will probably feed him twice between 11pm and 7am. If you feed him right before he goes to bed, then you may only have to get up one time during the night.

Q. How often should an older baby be nursed?

A. Depending upon the age of your child, you should be feeding him every 3-4 hours during the day. As your child gets older, they will nurse less, but they will be eating more during each nursing. If you are going to nurse after your child is over 6 months old, you should not nurse less than 5 times a day. If your milk supply is decreasing, then you may need to add a nursing or two to your day to help increase your milk supply.

Q. How do I go about dropping a feeding as my baby gets older?

A. The most common change that moms need to make is going from a every 3 hour to every 4 hour routine, dropping a feeding in the middle of the night, or dropping a late-night feeding.

Most of the time you will know when your baby is ready to change their eating habits by a change in their sleep patterns. A baby that has been on an every 3 hour routine normally takes 3 naps a day and if they eat every 3,5 to 4 hours then they may drop the last nap of the nap or shorten one of the other naps considerably. Babies are usually ready to do this at around 3 months of age.

Most babies drop the feeding in the middle of night by themselves at around 6-14 weeks old. You will know that they are ready when you awake in a panic in the morning wondering why your baby did not get you for a feeding. The baby will require more food during the day though, and if you are breastfeeding, your breasts may feel full for a few days, but it is well worth it!

The late night feeding is usually the hardest to let go of. Some parents think that if they do not feed the baby right before bed that the baby will awake in the middle of the night. If you don?t think your child can do without the late night feeding, then push it back in 15-minute increments until you are feeding him at the time you would like to. If the last two feedings of the day seem too close together, don?t worry. It will all work itself out and you both will be much happier for it!

Nursing is a very good profession. There is demand, the pay is quite good, the health benefits are okay, and there are a lot of specializations that you can go to in case you get tired of being stuck in one practice. One interesting opportunity is a career in psychiatric nursing.

What is a psychiatric nurse? This is a nurse that works in the psychiatric ward or mental health department of a hospital or medical facility and whose primary function is to take care and evaluate patients who display conditions and symptoms of psychiatric disorders. Also included in their scope are conditions brought about by substance abuse problems. So you can see that the scope of a psychiatric nurse?s job is not as limited as the title signifies.

Together with the doctors in the department, it is often part of the psychiatric nurse?s responsibilities to create a series of treatment plans that would help manage the conditions of each patient in the ward. Aside from the regular work of nurses, there are opportunities to work as researchers and even consultants on the field of psychiatry and psychiatric treatments. Often, they also serve as buffer or a support pillar for the families of the patients, explaining to them the conditions and the treatments involved.

There are certain steps that one has to undertake if he/she wants to be a psychiatric nurse. Because of the responsibilities involved, a psychiatric nurse is often required to take more courses as preparation to the tasks they will be handling. A masters degree or even a doctorate can be sometimes required or if not will definitely become handy in landing a better position.

To be more specific, the delegation of tasks can be divided into basic and advanced. The basic responsibilities of an entry level psychiatric nurse include working with the patients, their families, the community if possible and the support groups. It is also a basic requirement that nurses will be able to assess the mental health of patients, create nursing plans of action, and can put the necessary treatment plans into practice.

The next level would be the advanced level where an advanced level of education is necessary. This is where the masters degree specializing on psychiatric nursing will be required. With their education and experience, psychiatric nurses in the advanced level are expected to diagnose and treat patients and their families that manifest psychiatric disorders. They also do some important administrative work by keeping in touch with researchers, colleagues in the private sector in order to develop programs that would be agreeable to the general regulations of the hospital.

In this field nurses can still choose a specialization. There are still different fields of study in psychiatry. There?s psychiatric nursing for the elderly, for teens, and for children. There?s also the field of substance abuse and, of course, the field of forensics.

If we?re going to talk about the remunerations involved in a psychiatric nursing, the amount really depends on the skills, education and experience of the nurse. The location and kind of hospital is also part of how much a career in psychiatric nursing will make.

Nurses with more education and experience under their belt will normally earn more. Psychiatric nurses will continue to be in demand in the near future.

In the past, you will only see nurses working in the hospital. But because the nursing field has diversified, those who choose to enter this profession may find work in other places as well. Some examples of these are private clinics, government health care centers, residential homes, labs, private firms and schools.

One job you can get as a nurse is in pediatric home health care. Here, you are able to help parents prevent their children from getting sick by informing of them of potential threats as well as giving vaccinations. You also get to work with special children by helping them try to live a normal life even if there are hindrances.

The elderly are sometimes forgotten. The sad thing about it is that some of them are no longer able to do things on their own which is why it the youth like the nurses who are still strong may make a career caring for them.

You don?t have to be a licensed nurse to work here because even a nursing assistant can do the job. Some refer to such individuals as care givers. While some stay with the patient for a few hours, others stay with them full time.

If a hospital does not have the proper facilities to treat a patient, they will have to be moved to another hospital and that is where the job of a critical care transport nurse comes in. During the journey, their job is to make sure that there are no problems during the transfer. Some hospitals transfer patients using the ambulance while those that need quicker action will have to ride a helicopter.

Nurses sometimes take blood samples from the patient. But if you work in a blood donor center, you extract blood so this can be given to others who need it. You can have a career here if you specialized in phoresis. Those who have been doing this for a long time and have taken advanced studies will no longer be the one holding the needle and instead make sure that the center is functioning smoothly.

Accidents do happen in the workplace or even in an amusement park. This is why you have nurses on hand to help the patient until the paramedics arrive. This is what is known as on-site nurses.

For those who don?t want to be stuck in the hospital and want to travel at the same time, they can also make a career as a traveling nurse. Here, the person gets to work in one place on a contractual basis before working elsewhere. The best part is that you get free housing and sometimes a sign in bonus which isn?t that bad because you will only spend money on personal expenses.

One study shows that this is expected to continue into 2014 and beyond as the baby boom generation will soon reach retirement age which means such individuals that will soon be moving into nursing homes will need more care. You should also consider the number of children and adults who get into accidents that will require therapy and treatment so they may soon recover.

You can make a career out of nursing as more professionals will be needed in the coming years. So look for employment opportunities in the paper or in the web and if you qualify for the job, then make the most out of it.

It is never too late to learn something new. This is the reason that some decide to go back to school to enroll in a new course or even pursue a master?s or doctorate degree. If you have the desire to help people, perhaps you should consider nursing as a second career.

Nursing is a noble profession because you are able to help a patient recover from an injury or illness. It enables you to think about problem and how to solve it so you don?t just follow the doctor?s orders.

To become a nurse, you have to go back to school to learn about biology, chemistry and a few other subjects that will help you understand how you are able to help a patient when you get the chance to work in a clinical setting.

Given that there are more 1,500 programs all across the United States, you should do some research about the school you plan to enroll in. Some of the things you should consider are how much it costs, the curriculum they use and if they are accredited by the nursing board.

For those that cannot afford tuition, they can apply for aid, a loan or scholarship if this is offered by the school. If you still want to work while studying at the same time, you can ask if there are part time courses available or classes held at night.

Once you graduate, you will have to pass the state licensure exam and if things look good, you may now apply for work in a hospital or clinic.

If you are able to stay as a nurse for a number of years and want to advance your career further, you can do so by enrolling in advance courses. This will allow you to specialize in one field of nursing and become head of a group of nurses or work as a consultant, educator, instructor or researcher.

Shifting to a career in nursing may be frightening at first because you are stepping outside your comfort zone and moving into the unknown. But if this is really what you want, surely you will do your best to hurdle over these blocks and succeed in this endeavor.

Studies have shown that a lot of people decide to shift to nursing because of the money you can make. If this is your primary reason, you shouldn?t even bother because chances are, you won?t be staying here for the long term.

To succeed, you must have the desire to help people because you are in a life saving business where mistakes could mean the difference between life and death.

Aside from nursing, those of you who don?t want this job but still want to help patients can take on other positions. You can find work as a pharmacist, technician or lab assistant who also plays a role in the hospital as they work with doctors and nurses.

How well you are as a nurse is entirely up to you. Naturally, there will be people there to help you out but it is your decision to take their advice or to take another step forward. If you are not happy in this new career, don?t be afraid to shift to another.

After all, you did it before and you probably still haven?t found the kind of challenge that you are looking for.
